Local on 8th Ave

Great little bar in the heart of downtown on Stephen Avenue. Very low key spot to go out for drinks and food with friends, or catch a game, or just for a night out on the town. Very good food too, and I like the fact they have an open kitchen concept. Gordon Ramsay says the best restaurants have open kitchens, and this place supports his statement

Great service, good food. Had the braised beef poutine and veggie burger, both delicious. Server was so sweet and helpful. Slightly more expensive then regular pubs, but that's to be expected in this area. Busy during weekday lunchtime, of course also to be expected. Would love to come during weekend brunch sometime!

Really really really good. My first time here. You can't ever complain about craft beer, and the power bowl with chicken was great. I'm in town occasionally for work and will definitely come back here

Ordered delivery via door dash. The BEST fish tacos I’ve ever had and the fries were perfect! Ordered the donuts with chocolate sauce for desert.... really yummy and not overly sweet.

Located in the heart of down town, Local on 8th has a really cozy atmosphere which has a great blend of brick, wood and soft industrial style lighting. Lights are always turned down low which also make it feel pretty laid back. Jump on a Lime scooter and head over. Local offers a great patio area that opens up through garage style overhead doors, large bar and plenty of televisions for the games. Plenty of seating in many forms including curved bench seating, small and large tables big enough for large groups. We typically go for brunch, which is available between 10-3 Sat. Sun. and Holidays.

I had a server named Anna the two times I’ve been there and she was amazing! Super bubbly, friendly and always smiling. She always got everything to me quickly and checked in constantly to make sure I had everything I needed or that I was doing well. She was serving a lot of people, but always checked in despite how many people she served. She made both of my experiences at local awesome and I was able to be in and out on time. Amazing server and the food was great as well.

I was there last Thursday night to watch the NFL game and had the pleasure of being served up at the bar by Rachel! She was as good as it gets! Very attentive and outgoing! Not once did we have to summon her and she explained the different entrees we were about to order exceptionally well! The food we ordered was delicious and came out just as she described!Rachel truly deserves a 5 Star rating along with Local itself!

We love Local ! Always a place where we want to go and we never get bored of the food and the ambiance ! Today Jordan was really nice and did something really good for me! Please bring back the tuna poke as an appetizer!! I miss it so much !

Such a great place!! Came in last night with a group of friends and sat on the patio while being served by our awesome server, Rachel, and came back again tonight to see her. She knew the menu inside and out and was able to recommend us all either a drink or beer that we would enjoy. We ordered food off of the happy hour menu and everything came out super tasty and on point! Rachel was very personable and cared a lot about making sure we were having a good night. Definitely recommend going here, and ask for Rachel if you do!!!
